International Fiction Writing Competition - Win A$500 cash

The Stringybark Speculative Fiction Award 2011 is for the story that entertains the judges the most. Speculative fiction includes science fiction, fantasy, dystopian and utopian societies, post-cataclysmic futures and everything in between.

The maximum word length for speculative fiction entries is 2000 words.

This is the first of our competitions that we have opened to international writers. We feel that the future of the earth is not in the hands of any one nation. So we look forward to reading stories from our overseas colleagues.

The Stringybark Speculative Fiction Award 2011 offers the winner A$500 cash, a certificate and publication in hardcopy and/or electronically.

There is an entry fee of A$9.50 for one story, A$17 for two or A$22.50 for a maximum of three stories. This can be paid via PayPal or Direct Deposit. See the payment page for details.

Stories must be sent via email. Closing date for entries is 30 May 2011.

Winners will be notified by 31 July 2011.
