CAPTURE THE HIDDEN VALLEY

CEIRIOG VALLEY PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 2011

'A little bit of heaven on Earth' was how Lloyd George described the Ceiriog Valley in North East Wales. Located just south of Llangollen, close to the English border and the A5, the valley remains a secret and unspoilt place with an identity of its own and is largely off the tourist trail.

We're looking for digital photos which capture the essence of the Ceiriog Valley it's landscape, culture, people and wildlife. The subject matter must be the Ceiriog Valley and the photo must be taken between March 20 and August 31, 2011.

Prizes:

First Prize is a two-night stay B&B for two people at the four star Golden Pheasant Country Inn.

Second Prize is a dinner for two in the Pheasant Restaurant (includes two courses and a bottle of house wine)

Third Prize is a pub meal for two in the Pheasant Pub (includes two courses and a glass of wine or a pint of draught)

The winner will be notified by email and the prize must be taken within 6 months of the email notification.

Deadlines and Judging:

<>Submissions: Closing at 11:59pm on August 31, 2011.
<>Judges will shortlist final images to appear in Facebook Photo Album.
<>Total number of "LIKES" are added up from your entry on the Facebook Album. Winners will emerge based on the most numbers of "likes".
<>Closing of "Likes", 11:59pm on September 15, 2011.
<>Winners will be announced once competition has closed and their photos displayed in the Pheasant Bar.

How and what to enter:

<>Use the maximum quality setting on your camera to have the best chance of your image being selected.
<>Please keep digital manipulation such as cloning and compositing to a minimum; your photograph should faithfully represent the scene as you saw it. HDR images not produced by merging multiple exposures are unlikely to be accepted.
<>Only photos deemed suitable for public viewing will be displayed. Approved photos will be displayed on our Facebook page.
<>You can enter a maximum of five images.
<>Submit your photos via this website. For practical reasons please reduce your image size to 2Mb or less and ensure it is in JPEG format. The organizers cannot be held responsible for problems associated with entry submission

Rules and regulations:
<>Copyright of all images belongs to the participating photographers. By participating in this contest, photographers will allow the Golden Pheasant Country Inn the rights to reproduce the short-listed images for publication and promotion purposes.
<>All submissions must include the photographer's real names, addresses, contact numbers and emails along with the submissions.
<>This online photo contest is open to all everyone except members of staff of the Golden Pheasant Country Inn and members of their immediate families who are not eligible to enter this online photo contest.
<>Prizes are not exchangeable for cash or transferable. Any prizes not claimed within one month from the date of the results announcement will be forfeited and no further claims thereafter will be entertained.
<>Decisions of the judges are final and no further correspondence will be entertained.
