See examples here. Photographers must provide a high-resolution file of the history photo being reproduced, and the modern photo must be taken from the exact same location.

Nevada Annual Photo Competition PRIZES

The GRAND PRIZE winner of this year’s contest will receive a $250 gift certificate courtesy of Gordon’s Photo Service, have the image published in a future issue of Nevada Magazine and on nevadamagazine.com, and receive an award certificate.

The seven CATEGORY WINNERS will each receive $100 in prizes. The winning entries and runners-up for each category will be published in a future issue of Nevada Magazine and on nevadamagazine.com, as well as receive award certificates.

Nevada Annual Photo Competition SUBMISSIONS
HOW TO ENTER Please submit your entries via e-mail to Tony deRonnebeck, art director of Nevada Magazine, at tony@nevadamagazine.com. In your e-mail include your name, age, mailing address, and day and evening phone numbers. Enter up to a total of EIGHT photos. Maximum file size is 2MB per image at 72 dpi in JPG format (at least 6 inches wide). Upon notification, finalists will be asked to provide a high-resolution (10-by-12-inches at 300 dpi or greater) version of their photo(s) for reproduction. Maximum of 8MB per e-mail due to mailbox restrictions. List the names and number of photos being submitted and a detailed description, including the location in Nevada where each image was captured.
Entries MUST be received by 5 p.m. (PDT), Friday, June 29, 2012.

OFFICIAL RULES

RULES An entrant must hold all rights to a photograph. For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you will be required to provide a signed model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian. Photos previously published or pending publication, or that violate or infringe upon another person’s copyright, are not eligible. All photographers, amateur or professional, are eligible, except for individuals affiliated with the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs. By submitting your entries you are granting Nevada Magazine the option to publish your image(s) online and in print. Nevada Magazine may also elect to use winning image(s) for promotional purposes, for which you will receive photo credit. Nevada Magazine will solely determine the winners. Photographs must have been shot by the entrant within the past three years.

Please be respectful not to contact us about the status of entries. The finalists, and only the finalists, will be notified of their status by July 2012.
