Youth Waterfowl Guided Hunt Competition
#win #competition all competition - Youth Waterfowl Guided Hunt Competition
We have put together a Guided hunt which includes lodging and dinner for 8, yes EIGHT lucky youths!
IYF Outfitters will host the youth at their lodge and guide the youth hunters on their epic hunt!
When will it be? The hunt will take place over the Youth Waterfowl hunting weekend of Missouri's Middle Zone. (Exact dates will be set by MDC in August.- Tentatively the hunt should take place around the last weekend of October.)
We have narrowed down the age bracket to be from ages 12-15. Why those ages? The hunt will be taking place from a pit blind and safety always comes first. Our experience shows that most youth under the age of 12 are not physically capable to hold the gun and swing it properly in a pit blind. We want the kids to have fun and be safety conscious at the same time.
What is included?
The lucky winners will arrive at the IYF Lodge the afternoon/evening prior to their hunt and get settled into the lodge. Dinner will be provided and stories told of past hunts... and what to expect from the hunt to come. The next morning, the day of the big hunt. Breakfast will be served and off to the pit for the memorable, fun and duck strap filled day! After the hunt, will clean up and head home with memories that will last a lifetime!!!
What to bring? Each youth will need their own shotgun, shells, camo (waders) and an attitude of fun! (We do ask that all that enters are Hunter Safety Certified and be proficient with holding/swinging with a shotgun as safety is number 1 and will be hunting from a Pit Blind.)
How do I enter?
To enter simply write a 1 page or less summary answering the following: “Where is the Mississippi Alluvial Valley, and why is it so important for migrating waterfowl of the Mississippi Flyway?” and “A little about yourself and who you would want to bring with you and why.”
Entries can be sent three ways:
1. The parent (Or youth if capable) can post the entries in the "Youth Waterfowl Entry Thread" located here: http://www.waterfowltalk.com/showthr...ontest-Entries
2. You can mail the entry to:
Waterfowl Talk
645 Stargrass Rd.
Ozark, MO 65721
3. Email the entry to: contest@waterfowltalk.com
Entries will be accepted from today, June 15th thru August 1st.
The entries will be reviewed by IYF Outfitters, Miss. Flyway Staff and Waterfowl Talk Staff. The TOP FOUR will be chosen and the winners will each get to bring ONE friend along on their hunt (As well as one parent/legal guardian- Unfortunately space limitations prevent from allowing more then one parent along) So not only do the lucky winners get to share the hunt with a parent or legal guardian they as well will get to have a friend along to reminisce of the hunt for years to come!
The Top 4 will be selected and contacted once the Waterfowl Dates have been set (approximately August 10th) and the hunt scheduled.
