The purpose of this contest aims to encourage reflection on the role of flamenco in Spanish history and identity and more specifically Andalusian and architectural exploration in the area flamenco.

The project is located in the historic center of Jerez de la Frontera specifically on a site where it conducted an international competition "La Ciudad del Flamenco" won by Herzog and de Meuron in Plaza de Belén nº 5 “El Museo-Escuela de Flamenco” does not lie on account that project, so that lot is considered vacant.
