One grant will be awarded every other month in 2011, beginning in March, outlined below. We encourage you to apply early and in time to submit your photo essay to the 2011 Activist Awards!

Round 3: Health & Nutrition

* Opens July 18, 2011 at 9am PDT. Closes July 31, 2011 at 11:59pm PDT.
* Decision announced August 15, 2011

Grants may be used to begin a new project that can be completed in the one-year time frame of the grant, or to complete work on an existing non-profit communications project.

Each one-year non-profit grant will be used to provide a student photographer with:

* Cash Stipend of $1000 (can be used for project expenses including travel, new equipment, post processing costs, etc.)
* Publicity and promotion of the work produced
* Opportunity for follow-up support to distribute the finished work
