Auckland Photo Contest

#auckland #competition all competition - New Zealand's Nikon Photo Contest

D-Photo is teaming up with the Auckland Museum to offer young photographers the opportunity to learn from one of the country’s top professional photographers next month.

We are asking budding photographers between the age of 12 and 18 to submit their best wildlife shots for the chance to win a half-day workshop with renowned photographer Arno Gasteiger at the Auckland Museum.

The workshops are being held as part of the Auckland Museum’s Camera: Season of Photography programme, which also features the Natural History Museum Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition and two exhibitions from New Zealand Geographic.

Embracing the programme’s theme, images submitted for the competition must have been taken within New Zealand and should feature aspects of the country’s unique natural environment in some way.

To enter read the below terms and conditions carefully before submitting images to ahatwell@parkside.co.nz with the subject ‘Young Wildlife Photographer’ by Monday July 2 – submissions must include the name, age and hometown of the photographer, a title and brief description of the image and full contact details.

The winning photographer secures a place at one of the Auckland Museum’s Half-Day Workshops with Arno Gasteiger in July, the dates for which can be found here.

Arno Gasteiger is a distinguished local photographer with over 70 assignments for New Zealand Geographic under his belt, as well as having his work featured in the likes of GEO, Marie Claire, GQ Germany, Smithsonian, Der Spiegel, and the New York Times.

The workshop includes a guided tour of the NZ-Life: New Zealand Geographic Award-winning Photography 2009-11 exhibition, a critique of attendees’ work and time to apply newly learnt photography skills.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from one of new Zealand’s leading photographers – encourage the young photographer in your life to enter today.
