cooking contest - In the holiday season, cookies make spirits bright. Clever cooks use a variety of shortcuts to create festive treats the whole family loves. Do you have a few sweet tricks up your apron sleeve? We'd love to hear about them!

Simple & Delicious is looking for your best drop cookies, creative Christmas cutouts and sandwich-cookie delights. We're also eager to sample the no-bake, slice-and-bake and shaped specialties everyone (including Santa himself!) asks for year after year.

We'd especially like to receive twists on holiday classics and cookies that can be made ahead and frozen before or after baking. From-scratch or store-bought doughs, even ready-made cookies with a homemade spin are all fair game—as long as your recipe's easy and fancy enough for a holiday cookie tray, it's in!
In exchange for your favorite, you're eligible to receive $500 and have your recipe published in the October/November 2012 issue of Simple & Delicious, so don't delay!

cooking contest - Serve up your favorite healthy time-saving entree for a chance to win $600

Home cooks know that healthy meals aren't always the quickest or easiest to prepare. But those determined to dish up nutritious food for their families generally have a few go-to entrees they can rely on when time is tight.

Maybe it's a 30-minute recipe combining fresh ingredients with lightened-up convenience products. Maybe it's a lighter slow cooker dish that's all ready to serve when you get home at the end of a busy day, or a casserole that takes just a few minutes to put together but frees up time while it bakes.
