Judging
• All entries are judged on the basis of content, originality and quality of
expression. Judges’ decisions are final. Judges do not critique entries.
All entries are anonymous when given to the judges.
• Winners will be notified BY MAIL before the awards program.

Awards
• Cash prizes are awarded as follows:
$100 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place.
• Winners will be notified in August in a separate mailing from the awards
program invitation.
• All entrants will receive an invitation to the awards program, which will
be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, 10 a.m. at Connor’s Cove at Hardesty
Regional Library. Kathryn Lasky, winner of the 2011 Anne V. Zarrow
Award for Young Readers’ Literature, is the featured speaker and will
hand out the awards.
• Entrants, winners, and their families and friends are invited to attend
the awards program.
• KWGS Public Radio 89.5 will invite some of the winning authors in the
poetry and essay categories to record their work, and, at the discretion
of the station, will broadcast some of them.
• The Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust will present some of the awardwinning
short plays at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center in the Charles
E. Norman Theatre. The playwrights will be invited to attend rehearsals
and will be honored at a reception following the performance.
